What this tool checks

SSL and HTTPS signals from the live connection

HTTPS detected

Confirms whether the final website URL is loaded over HTTPS.

Certificate validity

Reports whether the certificate validity window covers the current time when browser certificate details are available.

TLS protocol

Shows the negotiated TLS protocol reported by the browser connection when available.

Certificate issuer

Shows the certificate issuer returned by the browser security details when available.

Certificate expiry

Shows the certificate valid-to date when the browser exposes that information.

Infrastructure context

Keeps SSL together with DNS timing, redirects and the rest of the website health report.

Interpret the result

A successful HTTPS load is the most useful first signal.

An SSL certificate can exist but still fail in practice because it is expired, not yet valid or rejected by the browser. SiteState checks the actual public website through Chromium rather than only looking up certificate metadata.

The free tool is intentionally focused on browser-visible certificate state. It does not currently perform a full certificate-chain audit or enumerate every intermediate certificate.

Methodology

SiteState reads TLS and certificate details exposed by the controlled Chromium navigation. The tool reports browser-visible HTTPS state and certificate timing when available; it is not a full PKI chain validator.

FAQ

Common questions about this website check

What does an SSL checker test?

SiteState checks whether the website loads over HTTPS and reports browser-visible certificate validity, TLS protocol, issuer and expiry details when available.

Does SiteState check the full certificate chain?

Not yet. The current tool focuses on the certificate and TLS details exposed by the live Chromium connection rather than a full intermediate-chain audit.

Can SiteState tell me when a certificate expires?

If the browser exposes the certificate validity dates, SiteState includes the certificate valid-to date in the check result.

Can I monitor SSL continuously?

SiteState can monitor the website continuously and keep infrastructure and availability changes in the wider monitoring history.

Continuous website state

Need ongoing history? Website monitoring turns one-off health checks into continuous state, incidents and change detection. Website monitoring.

A one-off check tells you what is happening now.

SiteState continuous monitoring keeps watching and builds history for changes, incidents and regressions.
