What this tool checks

Redirect behavior from the browser navigation

Redirect detected

Shows whether the main document navigation included one or more redirects.

Redirect count

Reports how many main-document responses occurred before the final page.

Final URL

Shows the destination URL reached by the browser after navigation completes.

Final HTTP status

Reports the HTTP status observed for the final main document.

HTTPS state

Shows whether the final destination is loaded over HTTPS.

Performance context

Keeps redirect behavior beside TTFB and page-load timing so unnecessary hops are easier to evaluate.

Interpret the result

Redirects are useful, but unnecessary hops add work.

Redirects are normal when URLs move, HTTP upgrades to HTTPS or canonical hostnames are enforced. Problems appear when several rules stack together or a visitor is sent somewhere unexpected.

SiteState currently reports redirect count and the final browser destination. It does not yet expose every intermediate hop and status code as a full redirect-chain trace.

Methodology

SiteState observes main-document responses during a controlled Chromium navigation. The current tool reports redirect count and final destination, not a hop-by-hop redirect-chain table.

FAQ

Common questions about this website check

How do I check redirects on a website?

Enter the website URL and run the SiteState redirect checker. It follows the live browser navigation and reports whether redirects occurred, the redirect count, final destination URL and final HTTP status.

What does the SiteState redirect checker show?

It shows whether redirects occurred, the number of document redirects, the final URL and the final HTTP status from the live browser navigation.

Does it show every 301 and 302 hop?

Not yet. The current SiteState tool reports the redirect count and final destination rather than a per-hop redirect chain.

Can redirects slow a website down?

Yes. Each extra redirect can add another request and connection delay before the final document loads.

Can I monitor redirect changes?

Continuous SiteState monitoring can keep the website under observation, while the free redirect checker is a one-off snapshot.

Continuous website state

Need ongoing history? Website monitoring turns one-off health checks into continuous state, incidents and change detection. Website monitoring.

A one-off check tells you what is happening now.

SiteState continuous monitoring keeps watching and builds history for changes, incidents and regressions.
